Stop Seeking Validation from Others
If you aren’t careful people will make you prove your worth, you will find yourself running around town seeking validation for your very existence.
Your every thought is based on if you are good enough to be in their company. News flash, you are perfect just being real. Having a certain title can get you the attention you want and need I know, but be careful since you can end up looking like an imposter/poser if you don’t know the business side of what you are claiming to be. Stay true to who you are even if that does not give you the prestigious title you are looking to have. If you are trying to gain the attention of someone making yourself more than what and who you are is not going to change anything and can make you look like a fool in the long run if you have no knowledge of that profession. If you want to stay on the right track, do what you love and have fun even if you are the only one on that road. People will talk and judge you no matter what because that’s what confused folks do while everyone else is living their destiny.
I am somebody
Yes, you are and never forget that, but trying to be something or someone you are not is not being true to yourself or what God may have called you to be. Learn how to work with the talents you have been given and leave all else outside. People know when they are working with the real deal or not, so don’t think picking a certain title makes you the real deal if you don’t know the business or industry side of things, skill set matters. My dad always said, “Stick with what you know, folks can’t doubt you when you do.” He’s right; you stand out when you know what you are talking about with others. If you are still learning the basics, don’t call yourself an expert, not yet, you can be playing with someone’s life or dream not to mention your own mind. If you don’t know who and what you are from day to day, others won’t either, plain and simple.
Pull it together and stand tall. Whatever you want to do, do it and don’t let anyone hold you back just make sure you know what you are talking about. I’ve never given a damn about what people say or think of me, you shouldn’t either. Stop seeking approval from others about your life and if it’s good enough for them or not. If you are what you say you are, you should know what you need to do and how to do it and get it done, if not you are wasting your time. Whatever God called you to do in this world, he wants you to stand out and trust me no one will be able to do what you do at the rate you can do it.
Seek out your destiny
What is it you want? You can’t be everything to everyone at the same time and still claim to be true to yourself. It kind of reminds me how when you talk with a small child they tell you they want to be an astronaut, lawyer, doctor, fireman/woman, own a business and the list goes on. Here is the problem, there is only one of you and you can do multiple things, just not all at the same time. Your destiny should be something that leads you with a passion and makes you a master at that level. It should be done at a level that makes people stand up and take notice, question or even imitate what you are doing. If this is not the case, you are not moving in your destiny, but placing hats on your head in hopes one fits and makes you look good in the process. Don’t get stuck in life fooling yourself about who you are if you don’t know the ins and outs of what it is you should be doing, STOP!
My advice to you is to be true to yourself and don’t let people force you to be something you are not; the crash would be devastating if you continue down that road in a role you were never meant to play.
Remember if you don’t know all you need to know, you can’t teach it to others and you shouldn’t try!
